Club Brew
UPDATED 06/28/2018
Each year in July we meet at a members house for a group/buddy brew. In 2017 the club met at Jim's house to brew on his system. We typically brew at least one club beer to be served at the Crab Feast in September. We have two goals for our brew day each year. The first is to just gather as a club and brew together. Depending upon how the hop garden has produced each year and when the hops are ready to harvest, we sometimes brew with fresh hops from the garden. At times we have just cut the vines and picked the hops while we brew. Very cool. The second goal is to help beginner brewers learn more about the craft of home brewing. We try to match an experienced brewer with a beginner. The beginner can either help the experienced brewer so that he or she can watch and learn, or the experienced brewer can help the beginner learn how to brew on the beginners equipment. Either approach will work.
We ask that each interested beginning brewer make a $10 deposit to reserve your spot (just want to make sure that you are serious about attending and so that we can match people). Half of your deposit ($5) will be returned when you attend. The other half covers the food that the club will provide at the brew day. We usually grill something and club members bring things to share.
Here is the Buddy Brew info for 2018
The club will provide BBQ and a few sides, but please plan to bring at least one item of food and drinks to share with everyone.
